Honesty is the best policy: I am not a 'quick-fix' or '8-week challenge' coach. We'll be working on nutrition education, mindset shifts, and consistent movement, which all require time to become second nature. Think of this as a lifestyle shift, not a temporary project.

I had been needing to get back into a fitness routine again, doing CrossFit, and a whole bunch of different programs over the last several years. I’ve never worked with a personal trainer before, but thought I’d try just to give me the motivation —and I’m so, so glad I found Rachel! I was in Cape Town for only 2.5 months, and I’m so glad she took me in even with her being in-demand by clients. Rachel really knows her stuff and treats her work like a science, all while being such a joy to work out with. She did an intake session with me and took careful note of what I needed to work on, and she then created a tailored program to target very specific muscles and even ranges of motion for me—all putting at the center my desire to be stronger and healthier. She also explained carefully what I was doing and made sure I did everything in good form, both pushing me to what she knows I can take and also working with where I was coming from. She is so down to earth, and is just a genuinely wonderful human being that you’d feel comfortable from the get go with her. In my many years of working out, I often wouldn’t be excited to go to the gym but I’d go anyway knowing I’d feel good after. But with Rachel, I actually looked forward to each workout, leaving the house with a spring in my step! And the gym itself as well as the people who train and work out there, are so down to earth, with very different levels of fitness but all obviously taking their health seriously.
